The Challenge of the Dorset Doddle

The Dorset Doddle is an incredibly tough 32 miles along the Dorset Coast Path from Weymouth to Swanage which is anything other than a “doddle!” On Sunday morning Abigail Barker, Dave Lawton, Bev Trenwith and Jenny White from the Purbeck Runners set off from the Jubilee Clock on Weymouth Esplanade with over 250 other runners and walkers attempting the challenge. The route took them along the roller coaster of the magnificent World Heritage Coastline, with over 5,000 feet of tough ascent and journeying through 100 million years of geological time! In blazing sunshine (not ideal) the four all completed this epic challenge and made it to the finish at All Saints Church Hall in Swanage in impressive times to be rewarded with their finishers certificates and some well earned refreshments. A great achievement!
